hCG Weight Loss Program – Days 11-16 and Weight Loss Expectations
So far I’m down 10lbs in 10days, will the 1/lb a day average hold up? On Day 11, I loose 1.4lbs, yes! But the rest of the week turns into a very bumpy ride, so I thought this would also be a good time to talk about weight loss expectations. It’s not nice topic, but from my research, I’m finding that most people on this diet don’t consistently lose a pound a day, sometimes you’ll lose 1.2-1.6 lbs in a day, other times you’ll have no loss for 2-3 days. This unfortunately appears to be the reality, and certainly throws a dart into the “you can loose 1/lb a day on the hCG diet,” now I’m sure there are people who have been able to lose 1 lb/day on the protocol, but it’s not the majority. But I do have to say, losing ¾ lb a day is ok with me!
So what were my numbers?
Day 11 – down 1.4 lbs
Day 12 – down 0.2 lbs
Day 13 – down 0.6 lbs
Day 14 – down 1.2 lbs
Day 15 – down nothing!
Day 16 – down 1.2 lbs
So after 16 days, my average weight loss is 0.9125 lbs/day. I started at 204lbs, and now I’m at 189.4, with a total loss of 14.6lbs. I’m just under the 1 lb/day I’ve read that is possible on the internet (everything we read on the internet is true, isn’t it?). This is further confirmed with comments on my blogs, and what I’ve found lurking on several hCG boards and Facebook related hCG pages. A more realistic weight loss on the hCG diet will vary and will depend on your sex and your individual metabolism. Men generally lose more than women. If you have a higher metabolism, you may lose quicker than those who don’t. If you are taking any medications (i.e. that contain cornstarch or sugar), you will lose half the amount of weight if you are not (do not discontinue the use of any prescription medicine without the advice of your healthcare provider).
It is possible to lose 20-25 lbs with a 26 day protocol, but it is not uncommon for some people to only average a .5-.75 lb a day loss. Many women say their average weight loss for a treatment round is between .5-.75 lb/day, whereas men often state it’s between .65-1 lb/day.
There are many issues that affect a person’s individual weight loss. It’s very important you follow the entire protocol (hCG, diet, limitations on cosmetics, etc..). For women, menstruation will cause an unusual weight loss pattern (i.e. gain, loss).
IAPAM Tips for a Successful hCG Weight Loss
In order for hCG to be an effective tool in weight management, you must strictly adhere to the following guidelines:
- You must have pharmaceutical grade hCG that is only available by prescription from a licensed physician.
- You must administer and store the hCG properly (always refrigerated).
- The dietary protocol that Dr. Simeons prescribed for his patients, must be followed without exception, addition, or substitutions.
- The daily caloric intake cannot exceed 500 Calories.
- You must follow the strict rules regarding cosmetics, makeup, and moisturizers
- Medications, vitamins, and/or supplements may reduce (or result in a weight gain) while you are on the program.
- You must drink at least 64oz of water daily (this helps mobilize the fat).
- Please advise your doctor of any medical conditions you have, these may impact your weight loss.
Next, I’ll post my latest numbers and talk about plateaus, and give some tips on how to beat them.
