Botox Training

Botox training is an important part of any physicians aesthetic practice or medical spa. By integrating Botox into a physician’s aesthetic practice, you now open the door to other complementary procedures like IPL skin rejuvenation, laser hair removal, chemical peels, and a home skin care regiment. According to a recent IAPAM (International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine) study, the women surveyed said “wrinkles” was their number one concern. Currently the only effective treatment for wrinkles is with Botulinum toxin type A, commonly referred to as Botox Cosmetic® (Allergan, Inc.) or Dysport® (Medicis, Inc.). Proper Botox training is critical to the success of an aesthetic medicine physician.

Botox which can last up to 6 months is touted as an entry into “aesthetics” procedure. Offering cosmetic injectable’s to your practice is a great way to increase practice revenues, however it is only one part of the puzzle. In order to operate a profitable aesthetic medicine practice you will need to provide: skin rejuvenation via IPL, laser hair removal, chemical peels, and physician directed Cosmeceuticals. And most importantly, you need to understand the business of aesthetic medicine. Consider attending the Aesthetic Medicine Symposium, it is the only complete aesthetic medicine training program available, including both Botox training, IPL / Laser training, and Chemical Peel training.

By the end of the weekend, you will understand the patient selection criteria, risks and benefits of the following injectable procedures:

  • Botox® Cosmetic Injection Techniques, Protocols and Guidelines. The key to happy patients is fully understanding where and how many units to inject, therefore extensive time will be spent analyzing patients to ensure you give them the best aesthetic results.
  • Dermal fillers, including: Hyaluronic acids (Restylane ®, Juvederm ®, Perlane ®, Hylaform®, and Hylaform® plus), Collagens (Cosmoderm™, Cosmoplast™), and Juvaderm.

* Please note, the Botox training is available to all licensed medical doctors (MDs), dentists (DDSs/DMDs) doctors of osteopathic medicine (DOs),  physicians assistants (PAs) and nurse practitioners (NPs).
