Clinic Sees Surge in 2008 Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Procedures

January 12, 2009 |

The non surgical rhinoplasty, or nose job, was one of 2008’s most inquired about filler services at the Twin Cities medical spa, Skin Rejuvenation Clinic of Edina. Although the procedure can’t reduce the size of a larger nose, it can be an excellent alternative to plastic surgery for those people seeking to camouflage bumps, drooping tips (“ski jump”), or crooked noses.

At Skin Rejuvenation Clinic, the non surgical rhinoplasty is performed by board certified physicians using a dermal filler such as Radiesse®, Restylane®, JuvedermTM, or Perlane®. The filler is injected into the areas of the nose and is used to contour and reshape the irregularities that are of concern.

Dr. Elizabeth Hagberg, who owns Skin Rejuvenation Clinic with her husband, Dr. Mark Hagberg, says the non-surgical rhinoplasty is creating quite a national buzz and that attention is tricking down locally to the Minneapolis / St. Paul area. Dr. Hagberg says many of her clients prefer the injectable option over surgery for a number of reasons. “The two obvious advantages are cost and downtime,” she says. “The price of our non surgical option ranges from $600 to $1600 depending on the amount of filler used, which is considerably less than plastic surgery. Results can last up to a year and beyond.”

However, according to Dr. Hagberg, what most appeals to potential clients is the lack of downtime needed for the non surgical rhinoplasty. “The traditional rhinoplasty can offer dramatic results, but often patients will take weeks to heal and after the cost of an expensive plastic surgery, it’s not desirable to have to take a personal vacation or request time off of work,” Dr. Hagberg says. “After our non-surgical rhinoplasty, clients walk out of our office looking and feeling fabulous.”

Dr. Mark Hagberg adds that during the non surgical nose job, patients are kept awake and very comfortable. “The filler we inject allows us to see the contouring immediately, so the patient sees their own transformation in progress, allowing them to be actively involved in their own procedure,” he says. “So the level of patient satisfaction is very high.”
