September 14, 2010 |

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, is pleased to announce that it has entered into a licensing agreement with the Chinese Journal of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery (CJAPS), to provide selected articles and abstracts from Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PRS), the official journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, to be translated into Chinese and published in CJAPS. LWW is the publisher of record for PRS.

Karen Abramson, President and CEO, Wolters Kluwer Health Medical Research, will join CJAPS at a signing ceremony in Shenyang, China on September 14th attended by leading Chinese plastic & reconstructive surgery specialists, along with representatives from CJAPS, PRS, and Wolters Kluwer. Key attendees include Dr. Jingheng Gao, Editor-in-Chief of CJAPS, Dr. Rod Rohrich, MD, Editor-in-Chief of PRS, and Dr. Zhanquan Li, Vice President of The People’s Hospital of Liaoning Province (Sponsor of CJAPS). Dr. Rohrich also will give an academic presentation following the ceremony.

CJAPS will feature PRS full text articles in Chinese and English abstracts in a special section of the journal on a bi-monthly basis.

“This agreement with CJAPS demonstrates our dedication to expanding access to leading health and medical research in China –- and throughout the world,” said Abramson. “Our publishing initiatives are grounded in helping society partners uncover new distribution and online content channels — sharing important and relevant published content from one esteemed journal to the other. This partnership agreement is an ideal fit for CJAPS and PRS.”

Dr. Rohrich commented, “This agreement represents a unique opportunity to expand the reach of PRS globally, while supporting the professional development of Chinese plastic surgery practitioners. We’re very pleased to partner with such a reputable journal as CJAPS.”

Dr. Gao added, “We’re honored to undertake this partnership with LWW to provide important peer-reviewed content from PRS on new techniques and developments in plastic surgery. PRS is world-renown for its comprehensive coverage on all aspects of plastic surgery and we’re proud to offer our readers this valuable information.”
