Move over Botox now there’s Xeomin, a new type of wrinkle treatment
Move over Botox, there’s a new kid on the block. It’s a new type of wrinkle treatment that may save you big bucks.
Only a few doctors in the country are using it, and one of them is in South Florida.
The product is called ‘Xeomin’. It’s been popular in Europe for years and is just now being introduced in the US.
“It’s very similar to Botox. It’s now considered the newest competitor to Botox,” said Dr. Michael Sinclair. “The product is used in almost the same way.”
It’s also FDA approved. It’s not a generic Botox but rather an alternative. And competition means prices of both products will likely come down.
“At the moment, because the company, Merz, is trying to get into the market, they are pricing it extremely aggressively,” explained Dr. Sinclair. “At this point, you can get Xeomin for a little less than half the cost of Botox.”
“I’ll be 49 next month — close to 50. I’m getting up there!” said Stacey LeBlanc. A working mother of two, Stacey’s thrilled with her results from Xeomin.
Dr. Sinclair treated her crow’s feet and her forehead. But she’s even happier with the price. “I have tried Botox, and I was very happy with that. But as it was explained to me, Xeomin is pretty much the same thing but half the price.”
“Who are we kidding here? It was half the price and the same results,” she continued. “It’s not rocket science!”
Dr. Sinclair is one of only a handful of doctors in the country using Xeomin right now.
He’s been practicing medicine for 25 years, and focusing exclusively on cosmetic medicine for the past 15. “The company that distributes the product has given it to a few of us doctors to try it before releasing it to the general public, the general doctor public. And so far, the results have been very good.”
Dr. Sinclair still uses Botox and likes it, and some of his clients still prefer it.
Stacey, though, says her wallet and her face are sticking with Xeomin. “I’m finding that the results are great. I have no wrinkles!”
Naturally, the price of a treatment will vary depending on how many areas of your face you decide to treat.
Typically, three areas with Botox will cost between $500 and $600. Treating three areas with Xeomin will cost between $250 and $300.
And so far, Dr. Sinclair’s patients are reporting it lasts just as long.
