Non-invasive anti-aging procedures growing in popularity

March 17, 2011 |

While some individuals may be more familiar with cosmetic surgeries such as facelifts and liposuction, it seems that more patients seeking anti-aging treatments are opting for non-invasive procedures. There is a wide variety of options for patients who want quick, effective and less-invasive treatments, and they are growing in popularity, according to NBC Connecticut.

One of the most well known and preferred treatment for crow’s feet and other facial wrinkles is Botox. However, there are other anti-wrinkle agents on the market that are available, such as Dysport, which is similar in price and treatment.

According to the news source, plastic surgeons are seeing more and more requests for procedures that have little to no recovery time. It seems patients want to be able to drop in for a procedure, and then go about their day as they normally would.

Facial fillers such as Juvederm, Perlane and Restylane, which are used to treat deep wrinkles in the face, are also becoming quite popular. Some see these injectables as giving a more natural, youthful look to one’s face compared to other surgical procedures.

The news provider also discusses chemical peels, a procedure in which a doctor uses chemical solutions to treat skin that is unevenly pigmented or damaged from the sun, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. These procedures vary in strength depending on the type of blemishes one wants to address.
