First 2 Weeks on the hCG Maintenance Diet
I know it has been a long time, but I’ve been traveling quite a bit lately. I wanted to let you all know that I’m now going into my third week of “no sugar and starch” hCG maintenance phase, and things are great. I’ve actually lost 3lbs since my last day on hCG. I’m still having a a challenge eating 1,500+ calories a day, but its great to have peanut butter and cheese! (not together of course). As of yesterday, I was 174 (starting weight 204). I did meet with a surgeon who is going to do the new Palomar SlimLipo procedure to remove the excess skin and the last bit of fat deposits around my abdomen and flanks. This machine uses a laser beam to zap the remaining fat (which they then suck out), a great side affect is that it heats up your insides and your skin tightens (takes about 2-3 months to see the actual results). I’ve seen some amazing results with this new machine.
I should emphasize that the maintenance phase is arguably the most important part of the protocol. The goal of the maintenance phase is for you to maintain your target weight (or last injection weight), not to lose more weight. If you have more weight to lose, you can do another round of the Protocol and diet (minimum 6 weeks between additional rounds). The longer you maintain your target weight, the more likely your body will reset to that weight. You should try and maintain a consistent daily caloric intake, don’t go crazy on the weekends and cut back during the week, this will not “set” your new weight.
It takes about 3 weeks before the weight you reached at the end of the treatment becomes stable (i.e. does not show violent fluctuations after an occasional excess). During this period you must realize that carbohydrates like sugar, rice, bread, potatoes, pastries etc., are by far the most dangerous. If no carbohydrates whatsoever are eaten, fats can be indulged in somewhat more liberally and even small quantities of alcohol, such as a glass of wine with meals, does no harm. However, as soon as fats and starch are combined, things are very liable to get out of hand. This has to be observed very carefully during the first 3 weeks after the treatment is ended, otherwise disappointments are almost sure to occur.
As long as your weight stays within two pounds of the weight you reached on the day of your last injection, you are fine, but the moment you gain more than 2 pounds (even if this is only a few ounces), you must, on that very same day, entirely skip breakfast and lunch (but take plenty to drink). For dinner you must eat a huge steak with only an apple or a raw tomato. If you don’t skip the breakfast and lunch on the day you gained 2 pounds, you will need at least a week or two of a strict diet, to return to your target weight.
Tip: Focus on what you can eat! Yes, starches and sugars comprise many of the foods that you love, but for the next 3 weeks, you need to focus on what you can eat (i.e. eggs, non-fat dairy, turkey, pork, most vegetables and fruits).

A lot of treatment in losing weight are coming out now…And people are willing to try these treatment just to have a slim body..Like the “Palomar SlimLipo “..This one is really effective..I think so…I could not do the HGC maintenance diet!!Its too hard,my goodness..No sugar?
Im on week 2 of the HCG program…. and it is relatively tough since there are a lot of foods you cannot eat- but this works!! I’m down 12lbs already….. amazing!!
I am on week one of the hcg maintenance phase and have gained 1.6lbs, but I have been using my favorite salad dressing that has 4g of sugar in it and sugar is the 3rd ingrediant on the list! That is probably where I have gone wrong! I lost 20lbs altogether on the 28day regimen so all in all I am happy!
This maintenace phase is proving to be a learning experience…I have yet to go above 1,075 calories as it is hard to eat that much! I will be laying off the salad dressing with sugar in it and will see if that works…I hope I don’t keep gaining as it is frustrating! I will continue to observe my weight every day and add or take away foods that affect me positively or negatively until I find the right balance to maintain my weight loss!
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us! God bless!
