Botox to be trialed as hay fever cure

Botox could offer more than just wrinkle relief, if new trials pan out using Botox gel as a relief for hay fever. A new study will determine if Botox could relieve hay fever symptoms for up to three months.   Professor Philip Bardin from the Monash Medical Center, linked to Melbourne’s Monash University, revealed that Botox has showed promise in providing relief in hay fever symptoms. The Telegraph reported Bardin said: “This is very new way to use an old medication.”

Bardin went on to explain “Part of why this is possible is that the Botox molecule has been re-engineered to be able to penetrate through the skin but also through the lining of the nose.
